The Speaker of the House of Representatives Borjana Krišto received the RCC Secretary-General on her inaugural visit

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina received the Secretary-General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Majlinda Bregu, on her inaugural visit.

A common interest was expressed, at the meeting, for the stronger integration of the economies of Southeast Europe through the implementation of certain RCC projects. Ms Bregu noted that, in the future, the main areas of activity of the RCC as the operational body of the South East Europe Co-operation Process (SEECP) will be trade, investment, mobility and digitisation. In this regard, the RCC Secretary General pointed out that priority will be given to concluding the two agreements currently under discussion - agreements on the reduction of roaming tariffs for Southeast European countries and agreements on the mutual recognition of diplomas.

Speaker Krišto emphasised that BiH, as the country currently chairing the SEECP, contributes to the work of this organisation, and that it especially supports projects aimed at strengthening the rule of law and regional economic co-operation.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed security challenges facing the region of Southeast Europe. (End)
