In accordance with the Freedom of Access to Information Act in BiH, which was adopted in 2000 by the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, information placed under the control of public authorities is a valuable public good.
With the aim of transparency and responsibility of public authorities, in accordance with the public interests, any person has the right to access this information to the largest extent possible. The public authorities have a corresponding obligation to publish the information, and also, the law provides any public person with the possibility to request amendment of and to provide comment regarding his/her personal information placed under the control of public authorities.
