Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Denis Zvizdić met in Istanbul with the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr. Denis Zvizdić, met today in Istanbul with the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Şentop. They discussed the co-operation between the parliaments of the two countries, and the bilateral relations between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were noted to be very good and in continued positive development.

Dr. Zvizdić pointed out that he appreciates the Republic of Türkiye as a friendly country that has always supported BiH, and that the political and economic relations between the two countries are good, but that it is necessary, bearing in mind the available economic capacities and investment opportunities, to intensify economic cooperation. He added that it is necessary to remove all obstacles in order to return Bosnia and Herzegovina to the focus of Turkish investors’ interests, thereby increasing the volume of Turkish investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They agreed that it is necessary to define new goals to be achieved in the economic partnership between BiH and Türkiye.

President Şentop said that Türkiye is a true friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strongly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country. He reiterated his country's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's full membership in the European Union and NATO.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Dr. Denis Zvizdić, said that the trilateral meetings between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Türkiye and Serbia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Türkiye and Croatia are welcome because they can significantly help in relaxing relations and improving policies in the fields of culture, education, economic and economic co-operation.
