Members of the PA BiH Delegation to IPU Predrag Kožul and Sredoje Nović attend the autumn session of the Interparliamentary Union in St. Petersburg

Members of Delegation of the Parliamentary assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to Interparliamentary Union (IPU) Predrag Kožul and Sredoje Nović attend participate in the regular autumn session of IPU which will be held from 14. – 18. October in St. Petersburg.

Kožul and Nović attended the session of the Governing Council of the IPU, which discussed the activities of this parliamentary organization between the two sessions.

The central topic of discussion at this year's IPU autumn session, attended by more than 1,500 delegates from 155 member countries, is promoting cultural pluralism and peace through interethnic and inter-religious dialogue.In this connection, it is expected that the delegates of the IPU, including 85 presidents and 50 deputy presidents of the parliaments of the member states, will adopt a resolution called "Share our Difference: 20. Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Democracy".

Discussion on the role of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in international administration, the process initiated by the UN to prohibit nuclear weapons, is envisaged within the framework on plenary session, as well as on the role of parliaments in overseeing the work of the armed forces participating in UN peacekeeping operations.

During the sessions, other global issues in the field of health, the protection of the environment and the use of renewable energy sources will be considered

A new president of the IPU will be elected in Sankt Petersburg, who will perform this duty in the next three years. (End)
