The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Denis Zvizdić Ph.D., met with the special representative for the Western Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania

"The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Denis Zvizdić Ph.D., met today with the special representative for the Western Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Adrian Davidoiu, and introduced him to the current political situation in BiH and the legislative priorities of the House of Representatives of the PABiH in the upcoming period.

Speaker Zvizdić thanked for everything that Romania does for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially for the unconditional support during the granting of candidate status for membership in the European Union (EU). He said that the key priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are membership in the EU and the NATO Alliance. He emphasised that Romania is one of the countries with the most soldiers within the EUFOR Althea mission in BiH and, in this regard, pointed out the importance of the deployment of part of the EUFOR soldiers in Brčko District.

Speaker Zvizdić and special representative Davidoiu agreed that relations between our two countries are good and friendly, but efforts should be made to strengthen parliamentary and bilateral co-operation in fields of mutual interest. They agreed that in terms of economy, there are great opportunities for investments in tourism, agricultural production, automotive, wood, military and machine industry, as well as in the IT sector as one of the fastest growing sectors in Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Romanian ambassador to BiH, Anton Pácuretu, also attended the meeting." (Statement from the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Denis Zvizdić, Ph.D.)
