Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was visited by over 3000 guests in 2011.

Due to a number of group visits that took place in the month of December, the number of guests, who have now visited the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of the “Open Parliament” programme implemented in 2005, crossed the ten thousand mark. During the last six years, 10,188 guests have visited the BiH Parliamentary Assembly (BiH PA) building and have participated in presentations on its basic functions. More than half of these visitors also had the opportunity to meet and talk with delegates of the BiH PA.

The "Open Parliament" programme in 2011 was significantly intensified through a promotional campaign during April and November of that year. With the visit of Roma from elementary schools from the Tuzla area at the end of last week, the number of guests this year crossed the three thousand mark, highlighting the success of the programme.

It should be also pointed out that during this visit, the new promotional publication "Your Parliament – the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH" was distributed. This publication, intended for elementary schools, is the first promotional material about BiH governmental bodies printed in the Roma language.

Over the past year, the BiH PA was also visited by students from various University faculties, Primary schools, secondary schools and NGO representatives not only from BiH, but also from the USA, Germany, Croatia, Norway, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, Denmark and Scotland. There are also organized programmes for kindergarten and special needs children.
The growth of interest in visiting the BiH PA is the result of many years of systematic work of the Secretariat of this State institution which had chosen, for strategic reasons, to reduce the gap between citizens and the state parliament, and to constantly improve the transparency of its work.
