The 94th Rose Roth NATO PA seminar and session of Middle East and Mediterranean Special group of NATO PA ended

By final presentation of head of the delegation of the parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Parliamentary Assembly of North Atlantic Alliance (NATO PA) Nikola Lovrinović, today in Sarajevo ended 94th Rose-Roth NATO PA seminar and session of Middle East and Mediterranean Special group of NATO PA.

The head of the delegation Lovrinović expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the PA BiH in the last three days was the host of the prominent conference, which were participated by over 150 parliamentarians from 19 NATO countries, 11 associated member countries of Alliance, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 12 countries from the Middle East and Africa region. Lovrinović thanked to the representatives of NATO PA for their cooperation during the organization of this seminar, and expressed his expectation that the discussion led during last days will contribute to the stabilization of political and security situation in the countries of the region.

In the framework of the session in which was discussed the instability in the region of Middle East, North Africa and Western Balkan, participants were addressed by the president of NATO PA Paolo Alli, who thanked BiH PA on extraordinary co-organization of this seminar and reception of representatives of NATO PA from 42 countries in Sarajevo. Alli said that he was convinced during his talks with the leadership of both Houses of the PA BiH in strong will of the representatives of the government institutions of Bosna and Herzegovina to continue actively work on reforms and fulfillment of  the requirements for continuation of Euro Atlantic integration of our country in future period. He assessed that the parliamentary dialogue and diplomacy are issues of crucial importance, and stressed that talks, which have been conducted in the previous three days in Sarajevo, represent guarantee of stability in the regional countries. He concluded that political leaders have a major responsibility regarding these issues, and that citizens expect from them solutions which will enable better economy and better life conditions for all in Western Balkan region.

During the last day of session was presented the report of Mediterranean and Middle East Special group to the participants of Rose-Roth seminar of the NATO PA, and it was discussed the terrorist  challenges  that are facing Europe and Western Balkans countries.  In the framework of the debate on implications related to the issues of terrorism and extremism in the countries of the region, BiH minister of security Dragan Mektic was addressed to participants of the seminar and session on Middle East and Mediterranean Special group of NATO PA.

The working part of the 94th Rose Roth seminar of NATO PA and the session of the Special group for Middle East and Mediterranean of NATO PA ended by presentation of the initiative for preventing violent extremism in Southeast Europe, and participants were introduced with the current situation and status of fighters from Europe on battlefields in Syria an Iraq and returnees from war zones.
