The leadership of the House of Peoples and the House of the Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH met with Prime Minister of Slovenia

The members of the Collegium of the House of Peoples and the House of the Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina met today in Sarajevo with the president of Government of the Republic of Slovenia Miroslav Cerar, who is in the official working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In an open and warm conversation it was emphasized that BiH and Slovenia have a very good cooperation, both on political and economic, and on cultural level as well, and that we should take the opportunity to further improve trade exchange between two countries. There are certainly issues on which we should continue to work, but in dialogue between friends that does not represent a complicated and long term process, it was said today.

Prime Minister Cerar pointed out that Slovenia will continue to support strongly the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, agreed with the assessment that membership in European Union and in NATO is the best factor of stabilization for all South Eastern Europe countries, and particularly for the countries emerge from the former Yugoslavia. At the same time, that path is the way for responding on current security challenges that are in front of the countries of this region, but also the whole modern Europe.

The Chairman of the House of Peoples Bariša Čolak, Chairman of the House of Representatives Šefik Džaferović and Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples Safet Sofić introduced guest from Slovenia with expectations that Bosnia and Herzegovina this year will make necessary steps and before the end of the year in order to gain candidate status for membership in the European Union.

At the same time, today was emphasized that the effective work on amending electoral legislation is expected in order to maintain next general and all future election in full democratic surroundings. (end)
