Chair of the House of Representatives Anti-Corruption Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Branislav Borenović Meets with UK Parliamentarians in London

Branislav Borenović, Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) and Chair of the House of Representatives Anti-Corruption Committee, met today in London with Phil Brickell, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Corruption in the Parliament of the United Kingdom and Labour MP, as well as with Wendy Morton, Conservative MP and Shadow Minister for Development.

The meetings focused on key anti-corruption mechanisms, oversight of public expenditure, and the transparent monitoring of financial flows. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of institutions in ensuring accountability and upholding the rule of law.

Mr Borenović briefed his counterparts from the UK Parliament on the work of the House of Representatives Anti-Corruption Committee, as well as on the challenges it faces in carrying out its mandate. It was mutually agreed that the exchange of experiences in parliamentary oversight represents an important step towards strengthening democratic processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was further emphasised that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path towards the European Union requires genuine reforms and institutions that act in the interest of citizens, with full integrity, accountability, and efficiency.

Mr Borenović, who is in London at the invitation of the UK Parliament, will also attend a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Corruption. (End)
