Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH held a meeting with the Minister for European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania

Today, the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting with the Minister for European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Igli Hasani, who is on an official visit to our country.

Members of the PA BiH delegation, which included the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Darko Babalj, MP Nihad Omerović on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Dr. Denis Zvizdić, delegate Safet Softić on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Kemal Ademović, and delegate Zdenko Ćosić on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Dr. Dragan Čović, stated that there are no open issues in the relations between BiH and Albania, and emphasized that the friendly relations of the two countries open up a lot of room for improvement of foreign trade and economic cooperation, especially in the field of tourism, as well as in the fields of education and culture.

Expressing gratitude to Albania for its direct and open support to BiH in the process of European integration, for its participation in the EUFOR mission in BiH, as well as for the help that friendly country provided to the citizens of BiH affected by the consequences of natural disasters, the members of the BiH Delegation welcomed the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in BiH, and expressed the hope that this act will strengthen and further develop bilateral relations in all areas.

They especially thanked for the cooperation that the two countries are developing through membership and support in international and regional organizations and initiatives and said that it is necessary to continue mutual support, especially in the institutions of the European Union.

Minister Hasani thanked for the hospitality and expressed his belief that the visit and talks he had in Sarajevo will encourage cooperation between the two friendly countries and raise it to a higher level.

Emphasizing that Albania and BiH share the same key foreign policy goal - full membership in the European Union - Minister Hasani also expressed his belief that the opening of his country's Embassy in Sarajevo will represent a major step in strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting,interlocutors pointed out the need to work together on the improvement of road infrastructure, as well as the opening of a direct air line between BiH and Albania, which, as was said, would create conditions for stronger economic and business cooperation, as well as greater exchange of tourists.
