Member of the House of Representatives and deputy chair of the Delegation of PA BiH to PA OSCE Albin Muslić participates in the 32nd annual session of PA OSCE in Porto

Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) and deputy chairman of the Delegation of the PA BiH to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA OSCE), Albin Muslić, is participating in the 32nd annual session of the PA OSCE, which is held in Porto under the chairmanship of Portugal.

During the plenary part of the session, the Draft Resolution on strengthening the positive cooperation program in the Western Balkans was discussed and adopted, the main proposer of which is PA OSCE vice-chairman and special envoy of PA OSCE for Southeast Europe Kyriakos Hadjiyianni.

As part of the discussion on this topic, the deputy chair of the PA BiH Delegation to the PA OSCE, Albin Muslić, who is also one of the co-signatories of the Draft Resolution, addressed the participants. Muslić emphasized that cooperation and peace in the Western Balkans are a priority in these challenging times, and emphasized the importance of the Resolution for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the region. The independence of the judiciary and the fight against corruption through legal changes, as well as cross-border cooperation, are of vital importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muslić said, adding that the rule of law and equal application for all are the foundation of every democratic society and one of the key priorities for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The adopted draft resolution recognizes the strategic importance of the Western Balkans for stability, security and peace in Europe and the OSCE region, expresses concern about the current political instability in the region, and underlines that reconciliation, inclusive regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations are key to mutual trust and common progress. It is expected that the adopted Draft Resolution will find its place in the Declaration of this year's session as the final document of the event.

The plenary part of the session opened with welcoming speeches by PA OSCE President Pia Kauma and President of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal José Pedro Aguiar-Branco. (end)
