Members of the Friendship Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Africa and the Middle East held talks with a delegation of the Consultative Assembly of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Deputy Chair of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) and Chair of the PABiH Friendship Group for Africa and the Middle East, Kemal Ademović, along with the member of the Friendship Group, Safet Softić, met today in Sarajevo with members of the Friendship Group for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Consultative Assembly (Majlis Ash-Shura) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Chair of the Saudi-Bosnian Parliamentary Friendship Group, H.E. Major General Abdulrahman bin Sanhat Al-Harbi.

During the meeting, members of the PABiH Friendship Group expressed deep gratitude to the guests from Saudi Arabia for their visit and for attending the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica. They emphasized the importance of continuously honoring the memory of the victims of the genocide and highlighted the need for joint efforts to prevent such crimes in the future.

At the meeting, which took place in a spirit of mutual understanding and friendly bilateral relations between the two countries, both sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations at all levels, including in tourism, economy, culture, and parliamentary cooperation. In this regard, both parties agreed to continue working on enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, concluding important bilateral agreements, and implementing projects of mutual interest. The discussion also covered the possibilities of intensifying trade exchange and investments.

It was welcomed that Bosnia and Herzegovina has once again lifted visa requirements this summer for all citizens of Saudi Arabia, which was seen as a clear sign of the country's full readiness to strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia in all areas. It was also expressed that Saudi Arabia is expected to facilitate the entry of Bosnian citizens into the Kingdom, particularly for holders of diplomatic passports.

The meeting confirmed the mutual desire to strengthen ties and deepen cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with special emphasis on shared remembrance and a commitment to peace.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Osamah Dakhel Al-Ahmadi. (end)
