Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Dr. Dragan Čović held a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary

Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), dr. Dragan Čović held a meeting with the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly László Kövér in Budapest. The main topic of the conversation was the strengthening of cooperation and economic relations between the two countries, with a special emphasis on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, institutional stability, and equality of the constituent peoples.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples Dr. Čović, who was in Hungary at the invitation of President Kövér, pointed out that ensuring the complete constitutional equality of the Croatian people is essential for long-term stability, as well as for the European perspective of BiH, which requires an accelerated and comprehensive implementation of reform processes. Dr. Čović thanked Hungary for its continuous assistance and advocacy of the European path of BiH, as well as the protection of the rights of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Čović invited president Kövér for a return visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dr. Kövér emphasized Hungary's commitment to the further progress of BiH on the European path, which in Hungarian foreign policy has the status of an "honorary neighbour", and added that it is necessary to continue working to protect and respect the equality of the three constituent peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement, the 30th anniversary of which is being celebrated this year.
Along with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples, Dr. Čović, the meeting was attended by MP in the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Darijana Filipović, while in addition to dr. Kövéra, the meeting was attended by the ambassador of Hungary in BiH, H.E. Krisztián Pósa, member of the Hungarian Parliament, dr. Gábor Pajtók, Croatian National Spokesperson József Szolga, Chief Advisor for Foreign Policy Péter Sárdi, Deputy Director for Foreign Policy Beatrix Kese, and Advisor Éva Szekrénys.
