Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Dragan Čović met in Zagreb with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia

"Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr Dragan Čović, met today in Zagreb with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković. The meeting was also attended by Member of the House of Representatives of PABiH, Darijana Filipović.

The discussions focused on bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Special attention was given to the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the forthcoming expectations and reforms. The officials discussed the priorities of future work, once again emphasising the strong commitment to the protection of the rights and interests of Croats as a constituent people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of PABiH Dr Čović expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in safeguarding the rights of Croats as a constituent people, as well as in building Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path. He underlined that Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to work diligently to preserve political stability and implement reforms, noting that the support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the partnership with the Republic of Croatia represent a significant contribution to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path and the strengthening of legitimate political representation.

Prime Ministerof the Republic of Croatia Plenković stressed that Croatia will continue to provide strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European path, underlining the need to accelerate reform processes. He particularly emphasised the importance of reaching an agreement on amendments to the electoral legislation in order to ensure the equality of the constituent peoples and the stable development of institutions.
