Members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the PABiH meet with a delegation from the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden

Members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH held talks today with a delegation from the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, which is on a multi-day visit to our country.

During the meeting, members of the Joint Collegium expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom of Sweden for its persistent support for democratic processes in our country, reforms, and our European path. Satisfaction was also expressed with the good inter-parliamentary cooperation which, it was emphasised, opens up space for the ties between the two friendly countries to expand into other areas, particularly the economy. In these processes, as agreed by the participants of today's meeting, the large Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora living in Sweden holds special significance, as they undoubtedly contribute to a better understanding between the peoples of BiH and this Scandinavian country.

In an open dialogue, the guests from the Swedish Parliament had the opportunity to hear various views on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they expressed particular interest in parliamentary legislative work as well as perspectives on the functioning of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

It was jointly assessed that the key to the success of reform processes and Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession process with the European Union lies in the hands of domestic politicians, and that solutions should primarily be sought through the strengthening of mutual trust and open dialogue between key domestic political forces. In this way, it was noted today, it is possible to remove delays in legislative work and adopt laws essential for the continuation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path. (end)
