Members of the Citizens’ Police Complaints Board paid a working visit to the BiH Border Police

Deputy Chairman of the Citizens’ Complaints Board on the Work of Police Officers in the Police Authorities of BiH, Vjekoslav Vuković, and a member of the Committee, Hana Korać, paid an official visit to the headquarters of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

In a conversation with the management of the BiH Border Police, the members of the Board were informed about the activities carried out by this police agency.

During the meeting, it was emphasised that all the capacities and material resources of the BiH Border Police are available for the fight against all forms of cross-border crime and illegal migration. It was pointed out that the biggest problem in the further development of this police agency is the lack of personnel, insufficient budgeted funds that the Border Police of BiH has at its disposal for the implementation of development projects, as well as the state of the infrastructure at the border crossing points.

In connection with the competences of the Board, members of the management of the BiH Border Police pointed out that, within this police agency, measures are continuously implemented to combat corruption and other violations of the duties of police officers.

At the meeting, past experiences in dealing with citizens' petitions and complaints were also exchanged. (end)
