Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Marinko Čavara, spoke with the Ambassador of Romania in Bosnia and Herzegovina

"Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara, met with the Ambassador of Romania to BiH, Anton Pacuretu. The interlocutors discussed the role of the parliament as a key institution of a democratic society in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration, and ways of improving parliamentary cooperation between two friendly countries, especially in the light of the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina can learn a lot from the experiences of Romania, which successfully completed the integration processes.

The fact that European integration is the biggest cohesive factor of all policies in BiH, which offers the greatest potential for necessary positive changes and adjustments in BiH, was positively evaluated. In this sense, special emphasis is placed on the current challenges of internal consolidation and harmonization of the B&H legislative framework with the Acquis based on the Integration Program, which is currently being developed, and the priorities communicated in the opinions of the European Commission. The importance of improving inter-parliamentary cooperation, efficiency and independence of institutions in fulfilling integration obligations in that process was highlighted.

The historical dynamics of the establishment of government at the state level, gathered around firm programmatic principles and policies focused on the European perspective of BiH and the general interest of all its inhabitants, was assessed as particularly significant. The new government has a unique opportunity to strengthen trust between the constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthen the authority of its institutions, which is crucial for political and economic stability. In this sense, it is crucial to accelerate the fulfilment of priority reforms through better coordination and faster decision-making in intensive cooperation with the relevant institutions and bodies of the European Union, especially the European Parliament, and bilaterally with friendly countries such as Romania, with which BiH shares a common history and strong friendly ties."
