Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PABiH Dr. Dragan Čović held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia

“The Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Dr. Dragan Čović, held a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman, today in Zagreb.

 The meeting, which was also attended by colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, was focused on the topics of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path, the sharing of the Republic of Croatia’s experience in the process of accession to the European Union, as well as the topics of bilateral relations and the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

On that occasion, Dr. Čović highlighted the positive steps forward in the establishment of the government, stressing that this step is important for the stabilisation of internal affairs and further progress in terms of internal and foreign policy priorities. In light of BiH's attainment of candidate status, he expressed the expectation that the authorities will use the existing momentum for the urgent and efficient implementation of the reforms that lie ahead on the European path.

In this regard, he particularly emphasised the forthcoming discussions on amendments to the Election Law of BiH and limited constitutional amendments in order to fully protect collective and individual rights and stop the practice of outvoting at all levels.

During the discussion on further strengthening of cooperation, it was pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia will continue co-operation in numerous areas, especially in the area of ​​sharing knowledge and experience regarding the EU membership accession process.

In the end, Dr Čović expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Croatia, which with its work and commitment helps the growth, development and stabilisation of European Bosnia and Herzegovina."
