Members of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee spoke with the Delegation of the German Bundestag

Chairman Mirza Kušljugić and member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanković-Lijanović talked today with the delegation of the German Bundestag, MPs Josip Juratović and Rainer Arnold, and the Assistant of the Working Group for Security and Defence Policy of the Bundestag, Axel Schneider.

During the meeting, they exchanged opinions regarding the economic situation in BiH with particular focus on adoption and implementation of strategies for development of BiH.
Members of the Committee informed guests that no BiH development strategies were adopted on the state level because of the lack of political will, and that such issues are under the competence of entities. They noticed that the most important strategies to be adopted in the forthcoming period are related to transport and energy, but it must be kept in mind to consider these development projects in regional context. They pointed out that the European integration process will simply force BiH to activate numerous projects to avoid lagging behind regional countries.

Furthermore, Mr. Kušljugić and Mr. Ivanković - Lijanović said that if BiH wants to improve economic situation then it must secure good conditions for the export of goods of animal and plant origin to the EU, as well as conditions for development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and make additional efforts to strengthen the role of local community.
They also discussed situation related to the construction of Corridor VC through BiH, and the level of cooperation between member states of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA). (End)
