Member of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Ismeta Dervoz, will participate in the Parliamentary Network Conference “Women Free from Violence”


Member of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Ismeta Dervoz, will participate in the Parliamentary Network Conference “Women Free from Violence” on 14 September in Tirana.

It is planned that, after addresses by Mendes Bota, Chair of the Conference and General Repporteur of PACE on violence against women, and Jozefina Topalli, Speaker of the Albanian Parliamentary Assembly, the conference will continue in four sessions.

During the first part of the session, international standards for combating violence against women, more precisely the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence will be discussed.

Conference participants will receive a Handbook for parliamentarians on the European Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, which should serve as an instrument for the promotion of the Istanbul Convention and other international documents from this field. For the second part of the session, it is planned that the role of the parliamentarians and parliamentary networks in the elimination of violence against women will be discussed, after which the Final Declaration and conclusions should be adopted.
