Participants of the 104th Rose Roth Seminar of the NATO PA in Stockholm announced strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and assistance to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Speaker of the House of Peoples and the Chairman of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA), Kemal Ademović, and delegation member Obren Petrović are participating in the 104th Rose Roth Seminar of the NATO PA, held in Stockholm.

On the second day of the seminar, the participants were addressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Tobias Billstrom, who, presenting key aspects and activities of his country's foreign policy, announced that Sweden will support Bosnia and Herzegovina both politically and financially.

The Chief of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, also addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of implementing decisions made at NATO summits in Vilnius and Madrid. He called on NATO member countries to collectively invest in the defence industry.

Admiral Bauer highlighted NATO's strong and resolute commitment to assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina through ongoing programs. Emphasizing that NATO closely monitors the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Admiral Bauer stated that a stable situation in BiH is of great importance to NATO, as evidenced by numerous activities and the implementation of programs with defence and security sector bodies. Admiral Bauer also expressed expectations that the United Nations Security Council would decide to extend the EUFOR ALTHEA Mission in BiH.

Participants of the seminar also heard from the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slaven Galić. In addressing the overcoming of internal and external challenges for progress in Euro-Atlantic integrations, Galić presented the current state, issues, and the vision of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic path.

Numerous questions from seminar participants focused primarily on how to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Armed Forces. They inquired about projects that would aid in demining processes, the development of demining battalion capacities, and the equipment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the panel discussion, which significantly addressed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the official announcement was made for the 105th Rose Roth seminar of the NATO PA, scheduled to take place from November 14 to 16, 2023, in Sarajevo.

In addition to members of the delegation, the Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sweden, Sabina Konjhodžić, also participated in the proceedings of the Rose Roth seminar in Stockholm. (end)
