Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples PA BiH dr Dragan Čović met with EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčak in Mostar

"Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) dr. Dragan Čović met today in Mostar with the special representative of the European Union for dialogue between Belgrade and Priština and other Western Balkans regional issues, H.E. Miroslav Lajčak.

During the working meeting, the officials discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina with an emphasis on reform momentum, the functioning of the government and steps forward on the European path. Also, the situation in the region was discussed with an emphasis on the importance of stable relations and general progress in terms of creating improved socio-economic, legal and security opportunities.

On that occasion, Čović expressed his satisfaction with the progress made on the European path, stressing that the government will soon adopt several key laws, including the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will fully protect the constitutional architecture of BiH and the rights of the three constituent peoples and other residents.

It was emphasized that cooperation and dialogue, both in the country and in the region, are key prerequisites for achieving long-term stability and progress, and that political leaders, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, must remain dedicated to finding domestic political solutions that will contribute to the long-awaited progress and building new opportunities for the benefit of all residents.” (Statement from the Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples, Dr. Dragan Čović)
