The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Živković spoke with the Ambassador of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina

"Today, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Milorad Živković, met in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mejia Eraskvin.

At the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in BiH, stressing the budget and reactions of a certain categories of the civil servants who are directly affected by the restrictive measures. Speaker Živković and Ambassador Eraskvin expressed mutual optimism for the budget’s adoption, because it is a key condition for BiH to continue on its path towards EU candidate status. Ambassador Eraskvin expressed interest in the implementation of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the “Sejdić-Finci” case. Živković said that the solution for the House of the People will be reached very soon, but there are still disagreements in the selection of the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Živković noted that, taking this and the question of the budget’s adoption into consideration, it is obvious that the problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not in the Dayton agreement, but rather in the Washington Agreement, which defines the relationships within the Federation.

They also discussed the forthcoming local elections in October and the situation in Srebrenica. Živković drew the attention of Ambassador Eraskvinu to the elections in Srebrenica, arguing that it is a kind of circular political crisis that is repeated every year before the anniversary of the destruction of Srebrenica, politicizing this event in the worst possible way," reported the office of the Speaker of House of Representatives Dr. Milorad Živković.
