Member of the BiH Joint Committee on Defence and Security Zdenko Ćosić and BiH Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović attended today, at the invitation of EUFOR Commander Major General Helmut Habermayer, a day for high-ranking officials as part of the annual exercise “EUFOR Rapid Response 2023” at the Butmir Camp in Sarajevo.
During the demonstration exercise, EUFOR members demonstrated part of their available forces as well as equipment including aircrafts, transporters and a number of weapons. As part of the exercise, the situation of confronting demonstrations was also simulated.
A methodical-demonstration exercise was performed, which demonstrated EUFOR's capabilities on land and in the air.
EUFOR's annual exercise "Rapid Response 2023" takes place from 11 to 29September throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Soldiers from 22 member states of the EUFOR mission are participating in the exercise, which will temporarily strengthen the composition of EUFOR by sending reserve forces that are currently on standby in those countries.
The goal of the exercise is to demonstrate EUFOR's readiness and confirm its ongoing support in maintaining a safe and stable environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. (End)
